| Editing Your Reseller Domain Name/Setting Name Servers or DNS | ||||||
Your default reseller domain name is the one selected when you ordered your reseller account. This domain name is important as it is the domain that your clients will use to access your reseller services. It is also how you will navigate to and use your control panel and pre-configured order forms. This domain can be a full domain or a sub-domain. We have two name servers that you can use to point your reseller domain and other domains to our services. Pointing your domain to these name servers will automatically point the A record and MX record for your domain to our servers. Our name servers are listed below. You can change which domain is your primary reseller domain from the settings window for your Reseller 2.0 control panel account. To access this window log into your control panel, and click the settings button in the upper right hand corner of your control panel.
The reseller domain tab is the default tab of the settings window. The settings for your reseller domain are displayed when viewing this tab.
![]() Manually Configuring DNS for your Reseller Domain If you are pointing your domain to your account using an A record or our name servers you will want to select “Redirect” from the drop down under Reseller domain handling. You then will want to ensure the A record for your reseller domain is pointed to the Reseller IP address that is listed on this screen. If you have chosen to use our name servers than your domains A record will automatically be pointed and there is no need to manually configure the DNS.
It is important to remember when creating your A record that if you desire to have your reseller domain appear as www.domainexamplereseller.com with the ‘www’ instead of domainexamplereseller.com, than you will need to create your A record for the sub domain ‘www’. This is true for other sub-domains as well. For example if you choose to use sub.domainexamplereseller.com instead of simply domainexamplereseller.com you would need to set up the A record for the sub-domain ‘sub’
Once your domain name’s A record has propagated to your Reseller IP address your signup form, reseller control panel, and billing control panel links will start working.
Editing the three fields, sign up form loaction, reseller control panel location, and billing control panel location on the right hand side of this window will create links to your accounts services. For example if I set my sign-up form to the location of ‘hosting_signup’ than my signup form would be available at domainexamplereseller.com/hosting_signup . Notice the location was simply added on at the end of the domain.
It also is important to set up your MX Records for your reseller domain name. This will ensure that any e-mail being sent from the control panel to your customers will be delivered properly. You can set up your MX Records by clicking the Change MX Records button on the reseller domain page. A window will pop up allowing you to enter the current MX Record settings for your domain name.
